About the position

As a Software Developer Tester at Guidehouse, you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and functionality of software products. This role involves collaborating closely with the development team to identify and resolve issues, ensuring that software meets high standards of performance and reliability. You will engage in various testing activities, including developing test plans, executing tests, and participating in product design reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze system specifications.
  • Develop and execute test plans and test cases (manual and automated).
  • Identify, document, and track software defects.
  • Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
  • Conduct post-release and post-implementation testing.
  • Participate in product design reviews to provide input on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
  • Ensure that new software integrations meet functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.
  • Track and report on quality metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree; four (4) years of Software Developer, Tester or similar experience may be used in lieu of degree requirement.
  • Four (4) or more years of experience as a Software Developer, Tester or similar.

Nice-to-haves

  • Three (3) years of experience with Cucumber.
  • Experience with data validation testing.
  • Understanding the principles of Accessibility Compliance, 508/WCAG.
  • Knowledge of UI/UX design principles and tools like Figma.
  • Certifications in software testing (e.g., CAST, CSQA, ISTQB).
  • Proficiency in Python and Java.
  • Strong knowledge of automated testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Jest, Playwright, Selenium, PyTest, JUnit).
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and processes in GitHub Actions.
  • Solid understanding of API testing and tools like Postman (CLI) Newman.
  • Extensive experience with AWS services and infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
