About the position
The IBM CIO Technology Platform Transformation team plays a crucial role in modernizing and optimizing IBM's technology infrastructure and platforms. The team aims to power AI-enabled experiences through AI-first technology platforms that enable and streamline existing processes, enhance security, and improve user experience by leveraging cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cloud computing. Driving the adoption of emerging technologies to optimize and automate various business functions, keeping an AI-first approach with a Digital Experience. Enable Best in Class IT with Enhanced cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive information and maintain regulatory compliance. Modernizing legacy systems and integrating disparate applications to improve interoperability and reduce technical debt. Collaborating with other departments and teams to align technology efforts with broader corporate objectives. Providing guidance and expertise on technology trends, best practices, and standards. This Group comprises professionals with diverse backgrounds in software engineering, data science, network architecture, and security. Responsibilities
- Visionary Software Infrastructure Design and Development: Envision, design, and build the Software infrastructure that keeps the solutions running.
- Innovative Problem Solving for Efficient Solutions: Challenge ideas, identify problems and create efficient solutions.
- Flexible, Maintainable, and Scalable Application Components: Develop flexible, maintainable, and scalable application components.
- Leading Technological Innovation through Collaboration: Collaborate with development peers and lead the way staying up to date with tools and technology trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field
- Overall 8 - 10 years of experience, out of which minimum 5 years of hands on experience should be using the combination of technologies specified below.
- Advanced Python Development: Core Programming skills, FastAPI Framework for RESTful API Development, Asynchronous programming (asyncio), Concurrent Programming (Threading, asynchronous/await), Task queue systems (Celery)
- Database Expertise: PostgreSQL (design, optimization and management)
- Frontend Development: React.js Framework, Carbon Design System, Modern Frontend build tools and practices
- Infrastructure and DevOps: Working experience on Linux, Git-based workflow (Github), containerized applications, CI/CD Pipelines, Hybrid Cloud
- Others: Microservices Architecture and Design Patterns, AI/ML, GenAI and Integration with Production Applications
Nice-to-haves
- Master's degree in Computer Science or related field
- Certifications demonstrating knowledge and experience with the above technologies.
- Passion for leadership, matched by the ability to inspire your team to understand business objectives, solve customer problems, and deliver measurable outcomes

- Broad subject matter expertise in the following areas: Basic to intermediate Networking Knowledge, Understanding of common network protocols and architectures, Operations Skills - Providing support to production applications, Infrastructure Management (Container Orchestration, DB Clusters, Message Queues), Monitoring and troubleshooting, Secure Application Design, Security Compliance, Vulnerabilities Management
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to interact with both technical teams and executive stakeholders.
- Proven track record of driving automation and network optimization initiatives.
- Occasional on-call coverage during weekends to support internal Teams in case of high severity incidents.
