About the position

The Software Developer position at Fox News Media involves playing a crucial role in the development and maintenance of native mobile applications for Android, including the Fox News and Fox Business apps. The developer will work closely with various stakeholders to create enterprise-level applications and enhance the mobile development stack, focusing on CI/CD solutions and unit testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop features for the Fox News and Fox Business Android apps, including Android TV and Fire TV apps.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD solutions, test solutions, and solidify the development process.
• Help architect and develop solutions for enterprise-level challenges such as caching media playback.
• Help further the mobile development stack for unit testing, CI/CD workflows, and deployment.
• Work with developers on-and-offsite across different development environments such as web, CMS, and backend service teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field plus two years of Android development experience, or a Bachelor's degree plus five years of experience.
• Experience using Java and Kotlin for Android development.
• Experience or knowledge in OTT development for Android TV or Fire TV.
• Experience building components using MVVM (model-view-view model) pattern.
• Knowledge of design patterns.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and Jira.
• Experience with RESTful JSON feed consumption.
• Experience with push notification integration and deep linking.
