About the position

The Software Developer position at Robert Half is a contract-to-hire role focused on maintaining and enhancing software applications within the fabrication industry, particularly construction estimating software. The role involves providing support and training to internal teams, external vendors, and end-users, ensuring the software ecosystem operates efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain software applications that are integral to daily business operations.
• Troubleshoot software issues, providing timely support to end-users.
• Identify and implement solutions to streamline workflows and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with other departments to integrate software applications with existing systems and databases.
• Work closely with third-party vendors for technical support, issue resolution, and product updates.
• Monitor application performance continuously, identifying areas for improvement.
• Assist with the support and maintenance of business applications, including HR systems.
• Develop and implement process automation to eliminate repetitive tasks and processes using scripting or other tools.
• Stay updated on software updates, patches, and new releases to ensure applications are current and secure.
• Take responsibility for software license renewals and distribution management.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in Backend Development.
• Familiarity with Bug Tracking to manage and report software bugs.
• Proficiency in programming using C++.
• Knowledge of AB Testing to compare versions of software applications.
• Understanding and experience with Agile Scrum methodologies.
• Proficiency in Ajax for creating asynchronous web applications.
• Experience in API Development for functionality sharing across software systems.
• Familiarity with ASP.NET for web application development.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD for 2D and 3D computer-aided design and drafting.
