About the position

The Software Developer (Senior Android Developer) at Fox News Media is responsible for building and maintaining native mobile applications for the Fox News and Fox Business platforms. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to influence the mobile development stack and create enterprise-level applications on the Android platform. The developer will also work on CI/CD solutions and architect solutions for complex challenges in mobile development.

Responsibilities

• Develop features for the Fox News and Fox Business Android apps, including Android TV and Fire TV apps.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD solutions, test solutions, and solidify the development process.
• Help architect and develop solutions for enterprise-level challenges such as caching media playback.
• Further the mobile development stack for unit testing, CI/CD workflows, and deployment.
• Collaborate with developers across different environments such as web, CMS, and backend service teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field plus two years of Android development experience, or a Bachelor's degree plus five years of experience.
• Experience using Java and Kotlin for Android development.
• Experience or knowledge in OTT development for Android TV or Fire TV.
• Experience building components using the MVVM pattern.
• Knowledge of design patterns.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and Jira.
• Experience with RESTful JSON feed consumption.
• Experience with push notification integration and deep linking.
