About the position

As a Software Developer at McGohan Brabender, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and automation tools. This role emphasizes collaboration with both IT and non-IT teams to deliver customer-centered solutions, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to best practices in software development.

Responsibilities

  • Write high quality, semantic, testable, maintainable, and well-documented code.
  • Engineer and develop applications, processes, and services within the Microsoft .NET framework.
  • Web development utilizing PHP, JavaScript, and AngularJS.
  • Utilize, update, and maintain related applications with SQL back end.
  • Automate processes using code, low-code, and visual-code.
  • Work with business teams to create technical requirements and deliver within time and scope.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry technologies and best practices, applying them where appropriate to projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field (CS, MIS, etc.) preferred, experience may serve as an adequate substitute for a degree.
  • Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft .NET, C#, SQL, APIs (REST), PHP, and JavaScript-based frameworks.
  • Experience with the use of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or similar).
  • Experience with CRMs (Salesforce is a plus).
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and project management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous experience in the insurance industry/brokerage is a plus.
