SMX is seeking a Software Developer to support the IMITSS program. The individual will be capable of working independently, able to act with a sense of urgency, and willing to contribute as an active member of the team. This role will be responsible for the development and maintenance of customer FlankSpeed data tools and applications, as well as the development of new tools and transitioning existing tools to the FlankSpeed environment. The position is remote but requires the ability to travel to client sites, preferably for candidates in the PST time zone. Additionally, this position requires a DoD secret security clearance, which necessitates US citizenship for work on DoD contracts. The Software Developer will engage in essential duties and responsibilities that include the development and maintenance of data tools and applications, executing and creating SQL scripts, and maintaining existing tools using Microsoft Visual Basic For Applications (VBA) tools such as Excel and Access. The role also involves performing data operations as needed, executing and maintaining Informatica Workflows, and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes. General software development tasks will be part of the daily responsibilities, including drafting technical documentation and participating in all aspects of software analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of financial Microsoft Office process tools. The developer will be expected to analyze problems, identify solutions, maintain and debug software tools, and test them thoroughly. The ideal candidate will possess a working knowledge of databases such as MS Access, Oracle 11g, and SharePoint Lists, as well as experience in automating processes in MS Office software, including Excel and Access VBA, MS PowerApps, and PowerBI. The candidate should also have experience administering SharePoint sites, including user administration, and possess 3-6+ years of related experience in Oracle, SQL Plus, Informatica, and Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in Excel and Access, along with MS PowerApps, PowerBI, and SharePoint. The role requires strong analytical skills, flexibility, adaptability, and punctuality, along with good organizational and time management skills. Strong verbal and written communication skills, teamwork, collaboration skills, attention to detail, and the ability to follow instructions are essential for success in this position.
