The Information Technology Division (ITD) of PACCAR, located in Renton, WA, utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide systems development, consulting, and voice and data communications services to the entire Corporation, which has high visibility in the technology sector. As a Software Developer in PACCAR's IT Division, you will be a key technical resource responsible for developing and implementing Vehicle Software functionality and driving global projects in the Vehicle Software Delivery area. This role requires strong experience in software development/engineering, a positive attitude, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. You will actively develop and maintain applications that enable telematics, over-the-air software updates, and service tool solutions that program software on PACCAR vehicles. Additionally, you will collaborate with other PACCAR divisions to understand, design, and implement features for the manufacturing environment where trucks are built, as well as solutions that aid aftermarket trucks. Your responsibilities will include designing and developing solutions to meet business requirements, maintaining applications for projects and production, troubleshooting and systems administration, and accurately estimating the time required to complete technical tasks. You will also communicate effectively with business analysts and internal teams to deliver product technical requirements, work as part of an Agile Team to deliver projects that meet customer expectations, and monitor problem tickets to support resolution for supported applications. Responsibilities

  • Design and develop solutions to meet business requirements and acceptance criteria.
  • Develop and maintain applications for projects and production.
  • Troubleshoot and perform systems administration.
  • Identify dependencies between projects and other systems.
  • Accurately estimate the time required to complete technical tasks and deliverables.
  • Communicate effectively with business analysts and internal teams to deliver product technical requirements like web service, screen, interface, and GUI designs.
  • Work as part of an Agile Team to deliver projects that meet customer expectations and achieve desired business benefits.
  • Monitor problem tickets and support resolution for supported applications.
  • Identify recurring issues and propose long-term solutions.
  • Perform telematics and diagnostics testing.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of software development and application support experience.
  • Strong understanding of OOO, SOA concepts, and SOLID Design Principles.
  • Proven expertise in secure web development (Web Applications, Web API, Webservices).
  • 2+ years of programming experience: .NET Core; ASP.NET Core; C#; Angular; JSON, XML; RESTful webservices; WCF; SQL/TSQL - SQL Server.
  • Experience with queuing technologies.
  • Familiarity with Azure DevOps VSTS and GitHub repositories.
  • Familiarity with AWS and AWS Infrastructure as Code.
  • Familiarity with MySQL and NoSQL.
  • Automated testing.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment with little or no supervision.
  • Able to prioritize and track multiple initiatives concurrently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with Angular/TypeScript.
  • Experience in automotive and embedded engineering is a plus.
  • Experience with test-driven development.
  • Experience in Agile Scrum framework and Azure DevOps.
