About the position

The Senior Android Developer at Fox News Media will play a crucial role in developing and maintaining the company's native mobile applications, including those for Android TV and Fire TV. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to create enterprise-level applications and enhance the mobile development stack, ensuring a robust development process through CI/CD solutions and testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop features for the Fox News and Fox Business Android apps, including Android TV and Fire TV apps.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD solutions, test solutions, and solidify the development process.
• Help architect and develop solutions for enterprise-level challenges such as caching media playback.
• Help further the mobile development stack for unit testing, CI/CD workflows, and deployment.
• Work with developers on-and-offsite across different development environments such as web, CMS, and backend service teams.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems or related field plus two years of Android development experience, or a Bachelor's degree in the same fields plus five years of experience.
• Experience using Java and Kotlin for Android development.
• Experience or knowledge in OTT development for Android TV or Fire TV.
• Experience building components using the MVVM (model-view-view model) pattern.
• Knowledge of design patterns.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and Jira.
• Experience with RESTful JSON feed consumption.
• Experience with push notification integration and deep linking.
• Experience working with product owners in building features per business requirements.
