About the position

SMX is seeking a Software Developer to support the IMITSS program. The individual will be capable of working independently, able to act with a sense of urgency, and willing to contribute as an active member of the team. This role will be responsible for the development and maintenance of customer FlankSpeed data tools and applications, as well as the development of new tools and transitioning existing tools to the FlankSpeed environment. The position is remote but requires the ability to travel to client sites, preferably for candidates in the PST time zone. Additionally, this position requires a DoD secret security clearance, which necessitates US citizenship for work on DoD contracts. The Software Developer will engage in various essential duties and responsibilities, including the development and maintenance of data tools and applications, transitioning existing tools to the cloud/FlankSpeed environment, and maintaining existing tools using Microsoft Visual Basic For Applications (VBA) tools such as Excel and Access. The role also involves performing data operations as needed, executing and/or creating SQL scripts, and maintaining Informatica Workflows, as well as Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) processes. General software development tasks will also be part of the responsibilities, including drafting technical documentation and participating in all aspects of software analysis, design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of financial Microsoft Office process tools. The developer will be expected to analyze problems, identify solutions, maintain and debug software tools, and test them thoroughly.

Responsibilities

  • Development and maintenance of data tools and applications
  • Developing new and transitioning existing tools to cloud/FlankSpeed environment
  • Maintaining existing tools using Microsoft Visual Basic For Applications (VBA) tools (Excel and Access)
  • Performing data operations as needed
  • Executing and/or creating SQL scripts
  • Executing and/or maintaining Informatica Workflows, and Extract, Transform and Loads (ETLs)/Mappings
  • General Software Development tasks
  • Drafting technical documentation
  • Participating in all aspects of software analysis, design, code, test, implementation and documentation of financial Microsoft Office process tools
  • Problem analysis, solution identification, maintaining (writing code), debugging, and testing of software tools

Requirements

  • 3-6+ years previous related experience (Oracle, SQL Plus, Informatica, Microsoft Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) in Excel and Access, MS PowerApps, PowerBI, SharePoint)
  • Working knowledge of databases (MS Access, Oracle 11g, SharePoint Lists)
  • Working knowledge of automating processes in MS Office software (Excel and Access VBA, MS PowerApps, PowerBI)
  • Working knowledge of administering SharePoint sites including user administration
  • Ability to self-learn
