About the position

The Software Developer at Kemba Cincinnati Credit Union is responsible for the design, development, analysis, testing, and implementation of software applications and specialized utility programs. This role involves analyzing customer needs, developing software solutions, and optimizing operational efficiency through customized software. The developer will work closely with the Computer & Information Systems Manager and team members to meet established goals and deadlines, ensuring high-quality software delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Create high-level programs and develop online banking applications using PowerOn programming, SymForms, PowerFrame Docs, MicroApps, Symxchange, JavaScript, HTML/HTML 5.
  • Develop user-friendly ASP.NET based internal web applications and deploy them on Apache Tomcat and Microsoft IIS.
  • Prepare low-level data models, defining relationships between various database tables, creating tables, and configuring data in SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS).
  • Design detailed workflow charts, diagrams, and technical specification documents that describe the input, output, and logical operation of each project.
  • Finalize the technical aspects necessary for coding.
  • Create and execute unit tests and integration test plans; implement unit test cases using Symitar; test environment and prepare unit test results.
  • Design and develop front-end APIs using JAVA.
  • Work simultaneously with other developers to ensure implementation of technical standards and relevant business requirements.
  • Build complex reports using ARCU by writing complex SQL codes and stored procedures, implement SSRS, SSIS, and Power BI.
  • Create and maintain automated tasks using Task Scheduler and scripting language such as VBScript.
  • Maintain and set information retrieval and ensure it is up to date on online banking and www.kemba.com.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a two-year college degree, completion of a specialized certification or licensing, completion of specialized training courses conducted by vendors, or job-specific skills acquired through an apprenticeship program.
  • Three to five years of similar or related experience.
  • At least three years of Symitar programming experience preferred.
  • Strong programming and analytical skills.
  • Ability to prepare reports, summaries, and documentation.
  • Ability to effectively research and provide accurate estimates.
  • Ability to resolve problems and design solutions.
  • Well organized and detail-oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with online banking applications.
  • Familiarity with SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
