About the position

SkillStorm is seeking Software Developers to join a government system integrator client. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the development, configuration, and testing of applications, collaborating closely with product owners, business analysts, and development teams to gather requirements and implement best practices. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical foundation, strong problem-solving abilities, and a willingness to learn in a team-oriented environment. This position requires the ability to obtain security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and configuration of applications and solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality and completeness of requirements.
  • Participate in testing activities, including developing test plans and executing automated test cases.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to applications and integrations.
  • Contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions and the development of internal documentation.
  • Stay updated with the latest features and industry trends to enhance development practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 5 years of W2 experience, including at least 2 years of relevant technical experience, is required.
  • Relevant industry experience, with a preference for candidates familiar with application development and testing methodologies.
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required for public sector roles under SkillStorm's W2.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding of application architecture, design patterns, and best practices.
  • Hands-on experience using OOP programming languages, testing tools, and database management.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to navigate project management and workflow tools.
  • Proven understanding and application of Waterfall, Agile Scrum, and Kanban software development methodologies.
  • Experience with relational databases, SQL, and web services (REST/SOAP).
  • Ability to navigate BA Workflow, Agile Scrum, and Project Management tools (Jira, MS Project, Visio, Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Business Process / Rules repositories).
