About the position

The Software Developer at Old Hickory Management, LLC is responsible for supporting and enhancing the company's IT systems to improve business operations. This role involves designing and coding new features, collaborating on product lifecycle management, troubleshooting existing systems, and providing IT support. The developer will work on both front-end and back-end development, ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of internal software systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and code new features and enhancements.
• Assist with all aspects of the product lifecycle, from specifications through QA.
• Collaborate on finding and fixing bugs.
• Work to continuously improve efficiency and effectiveness of internal software systems.
• Understand and support security role maintenance including role hierarchy, security profiles, and access rights.
• Acclimate quickly to current system configuration and custom code in order to troubleshoot and enhance the current systems.
• Create and maintain system interface diagrams, functional designs, and technical specifications.
• Operate as backup contact for IT support requests, escalating the request if needed.
• Operate as backup contact to maintain AWS and local servers, including adding new users, applying software patches, and performing system backups.
• Assist with technology related questions/problems from internal users as well as external business partners.
• Other projects or duties as assigned.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in full-stack development (especially back end).
• Strong experience with MySQL/MariaDB Database required.
• Strong experience with HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS3 required.
• Strong experience with PHP/Java is required.
• Strong experience with Git is required.
• Strong experience with AWS is a plus.
• Experience with system administration of Linux/Apache/Tomcat is a plus.
• Experience with REST based API development and testing.
• Ability to meet deadlines and effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Some familiarity with unit and automated software testing.
• Highly productive, both working alone and in a team environment.
• Must have strong written and verbal communication skills and client relationship experience.
• Web development experience is required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Bootstrap and Angular is preferred.
• Experience with Salesforce is a plus.
