About the position

The Software Developer position at Amentum involves supporting the Cyber Security & Information Assurance (CSIA) Support Services office, primarily at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, MD, and Ft Belvoir, VA. The role encompasses developing, analyzing, and designing software products while collaborating closely with clients and government project leads. The position is contingent upon project award and requires a strong foundation in computer science and software engineering.

Responsibilities

• Develops, plans, analyzes, designs products, and programs computer software that requires extensive research.
• Utilizes advanced knowledge in computer science or software engineering along with advanced knowledge of software development methodologies.
• Performs software and system testing procedures, bug verification, release testing, and beta support.
• Participates in design meetings and consults with other staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, and operational and performance requirements of the overall system.
• Prepares documentation required of the product.
• Analyzes and researches software requirements to determine feasibility of design and marketing requirements within time and cost constraints.
• May consult with customers concerning application and maintenance of software.
• May coordinate installation of software systems.
• May serve as a project architect.
• Creates error-free software code under the direction and supervision of senior software development managers.
• Creates software development plans and strategies.
• Able to write software documentation.
• Has experience in both Windows and web development environments.
• Has experience in developing and implementing algorithms.
• Has experience in database design.
• Conducts quality control of software development.
• Conducts proactive risk identification and mitigation of the software development process.
• Has experience in devising possible solutions to predicted problems, evaluating other options, and working as part of a team to write specific sections of the program.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or other relevant field.
• 1-10+ years' experience in software development.
• 4 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education.
• Must have an Active TOP SECRET US Government Clearance.
