About the position
The Amazon Dedicated Cloud Engineering team is focused on building automated platforms and solutions to streamline the AWS build and deployment process in dedicated regions. The role involves owning new feature development, improving systems for internal customers, and ensuring designs meet customer needs. The position requires an active TS/SCI security clearance and offers a flexible work schedule to promote work-life balance.
Responsibilities
- Own new feature development from design through to implementation, deployment, and operations.
- Build and improve systems that help internal customers do their jobs faster and safer.
- Consult with senior and principal engineers to ensure designs meet customer needs.
- Perform on-call duty at least once a quarter, acting as the first line of defense against system problems.
Requirements
- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
- Bachelor's degree or CSSLP (Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional).
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
- 2+ years of experience working with Linux/Unix systems.
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of Top Secret or above.
Nice-to-haves
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
- Experience building production-level services with AWS infrastructure.
