About the position

The Software Development Engineer for Amazon Music Catalog is responsible for enhancing the core machine learning infrastructure that tags music content and improves music similarity. This role involves collaborating with research scientists to deploy scalable machine learning models, ensuring high-impact projects are delivered with end-to-end ownership. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, a commitment to collaboration, and excellent communication skills, working to improve the quality and breadth of metadata within the Amazon Music Catalog.

Responsibilities

• Enhance core ML infrastructure for tagging music content.
• Improve music similarity through scalable ML models.
• Collaborate with research scientists to design and build data pipelines for processing massive datasets.
• Investigate design approaches and prototype new technologies.
• Develop and maintain platforms/services for evaluating and deploying machine learning models.

Requirements

• 2+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Knowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience in ML Ops using modern cloud solutions like Sagemaker, Kubernetes, Airflow.
• Proficiency in Python/Kotlin.
• Experience with AutoML platforms.
