About the position

The Software Development Engineer at Amazon Robotics will play a crucial role in developing a foundational platform that transforms warehouse robotics through innovative designs and software solutions. This position involves collaborating with a smart, collaborative team to solve real-world challenges in robotics, impacting the efficiency and scalability of robotic systems across the Amazon warehouse network.

Responsibilities

• Conceive, design and develop components to solve robotics problems at scale
• Collaborate across teams to create software which drives hardware
• Prototype new concepts or features through simulators, emulators and with live robotic equipment in the lab
• Work directly with internal customers and see the impact of your products in the field

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language
• Strong experience with C++

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience working on software libraries and tools for building robot applications and/or communication middleware.
