About the position

The Software Development Engineer will play a crucial role in designing and building innovative automotive-shopping experiences for customers. This position involves creating full-stack solutions that enhance customer interactions with vehicles, leveraging AWS services and large-scale back-end systems. The engineer will also mentor other developers and contribute to establishing a culture of quality and innovation within a new team dedicated to automotive discovery and shopping on Amazon.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build full-stack solutions for innovative automotive experiences across devices and web.
  • Collaborate with creative and technical teams to solve challenges using problem-solving skills.
  • Develop solutions that include innovative UX strategies, AWS services, and large-scale back-end services.
  • Integrate and optimize existing ad products to leverage Amazon's scale and reach.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to other Software Development Engineers (SDEs).
  • Set high quality standards through design reviews and robust engineering practices, including automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
