About the position

The AWS Identity team is seeking a Software Development Engineer (SDE) to build and innovate the identity, authentication, and authorization stack for AWS cloud services. This role involves creating solutions on a global scale, owning systems end-to-end, and influencing technology direction across AWS services. The SDE will drive mission-critical projects, collaborate with senior engineers, and mentor junior team members, all while maintaining a focus on work-life balance and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

• Create and collaborate in the design, implementation, and deployment of systems and services.
• Functionally decompose complex problems into simple, straightforward solutions while understanding system interdependencies and limitations.
• Share knowledge of effective performance, scalability, architecture, and engineering patterns and methods.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
