The AWS Hardware Engineering team is at the forefront of creating server designs that power Amazon's innovative web services. As a Software Development Engineer focusing on BIOS and firmware development, you will tackle challenging technology problems and build architecturally sound, high-quality components that enable AWS to realize its critical business strategies. In this role, you will be an innovative self-starter with a deep understanding of server hardware and firmware. You will gain a comprehensive understanding of our server firmware stack and analyze it in both its current and future contexts. Your projects will leverage your extensive knowledge of the system to identify optimal solutions for complex system designs and issues. Collaboration is key; you will work closely with engineers across the company and external partners, leading development efforts and ensuring that our solutions meet the high standards expected at AWS. As a member of the team, you will be involved in the entire development process, from conception through production. You will explore emerging technologies and assess their impact on AWS, tailoring devices specifically for the AWS environment. This role is not just about coding; it’s about making a direct impact on our bottom line and delivering improvements that benefit our developers and customers alike. The AWS Infrastructure Services team, which you will be a part of, is responsible for the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. This includes supporting all AWS data centers and the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continuous access to the innovations they rely on. You will collaborate with a diverse group of professionals, including software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, and security experts, all working together to deliver the highest standards of safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers.
