About the position

As a Software Development Engineer II on the AWS CloudTrail team, you will be at the forefront of developing scalable systems that manage and process massive amounts of data. This role is pivotal as it touches nearly every AWS service and is relevant to a vast array of AWS customers. You will be responsible for defining system architecture, implementing specific components, and shaping the overall user experience. Your work will involve building highly available, secure, scalable, distributed, and event-driven systems that are essential for the functionality of AWS services. In this position, you will engage in various aspects of software development, including planning, architecture design, implementation, testing, and process improvement. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies for managing big data, such as PrestoDB, Hive, and Hadoop. Responsibilities

  • Help define the system architecture and own specific components.
  • Implement and shape the overall experience of the system.
  • Build highly available, secure, scalable, distributed, and event-driven systems.
  • Contribute to planning, architecture design, implementation, testing, and process improvement.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
