About the position

The Software Development Engineer (SDE) position within Amazon's Fulfillment Technology and Robotics organization focuses on developing next-generation software platforms and automation solutions for the Amazon Fulfillment Network. The role involves working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and external partners to create and enhance critical warehouse technology, requiring flexibility and responsiveness in a complex global environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop a complex set of backend and infrastructure tools.
• Work across multiple layers of the software stack, including embedded firmware, user-facing front-end systems, and back-end software systems.
• Assist in the development of cloud infrastructure to manage fleets of real-world devices.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to enhance warehouse technology solutions.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of experience in design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Knowledge of embedded systems architecture, including microcontrollers, microprocessors, device drivers, and firmware development.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, and testing.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience with AWS technologies (AWS CLI, CloudWatch, IAM, SSM, Networking).
• IoT experience with technologies like Greengrass.
• Experience in debugging, logging, and metrology.
