About the position

The Software Development Engineer II in Robotics Automation Integration Technologies at Amazon is responsible for developing next-generation software platforms and automation solutions within the Fulfillment Technology and Robotics organization. This role involves working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams and external partners to enhance critical warehouse technology, focusing on both embedded systems and cloud-based solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop a complex set of backend and infrastructure tools.
• Work across multiple layers of the software stack, including embedded firmware, user-facing front-end systems, back-end software systems, and cloud infrastructure.
• Assist in the development and deployment of globally utilized technology solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to innovate and improve warehouse technology.

Requirements

• 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
• Experience programming with at least one software programming language.
• Knowledge of embedded systems architecture, including microcontrollers, microprocessors, device drivers, and firmware development.

Nice-to-haves

• 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
• Experience in AWS technologies (AWS CLI, CloudWatch, IAM, SSM, Networking).
• IoT experience on technologies like Greengrass would be a plus.
• Experience with debugging, logging, and metrology.
