About the position

The Software Development Engineer in Test II (SDET II) at Fleet Response plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality of software applications through automated testing. This position involves collaborating with clients and IT team members to develop and maintain quality assurance methodologies, including test cases and technical documentation. SDET II team members are integral to the agile development process, working under the guidance of senior SDETs to create and manage automated testing tools, gather requirements, and execute test plans across various platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, debug, and maintain automated tests.
  • Support multiple applications under the guidance of Sr. SDETs.
  • Create technical design specifications with guidance from Sr. SDETs.
  • Review technical design specifications of SDET I under Sr. SDET guidance.
  • Develop/build IT solutions to meet business requirements with Sr. SDET support.
  • Install and configure solutions as needed.
  • Design and develop automatic testing tools under Sr. SDET guidance.
  • Develop, execute, and document test plans for BDD/TDD and Hybrid frameworks.
  • Design and implement tools for functional, end-to-end, and load/performance test automation.
  • Collaborate with Product, UX, and Engineering teams during requirements and implementation stages.
  • Assist in extending automation testing aspects using DevOps toolset.
  • Drive test-related activities early in a sprint and work in parallel with developers.
  • Continuously learn production traffic patterns and optimize testing processes.
  • Learn new tools and technologies required for job duties.
  • Multi-task across multiple projects.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of test automation experience.
  • Proficient experience with Selenium, Protractor, Test Caf, JMeter, LoadRunner, NUnit or similar tools.
  • Proficient experience with application programming, API or database design.
  • Proficient experience with source control tools such as GIT, SVN, TFS.
  • Proficient in C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL or similar programming languages.
  • Proficient in Testing Methodologies such as functional and non-functional testing.
  • Proficient in identifying beneficial test cases for a system under test.
  • Proficient experience with Azure DevOps, Git CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, or other build automation tools.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Azure (preferred) or AWS.
  • Proficient experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps/VSTS (preferred) or Jira.
  • Novice experience with Docker (preferred) or similar container-based technologies.
  • Working knowledge of Page Object Model.
  • Knowledge of Behavior Driven Development practices and use of Gherkin.
  • Above average troubleshooting skills.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies.
  • Comfortable in a predominantly Windows-based environment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction.
  • Comfortable with a predominantly .NET based code base.

  • Experience with testing gap analysis for automated test cases.
