About the position

The Software Development Engineer in Test III (SDET III) at Omnicell is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of the OmniCenter platform, which is crucial for pharmacy management and medication delivery. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement new features, enhance existing functionalities, and validate software solutions through comprehensive testing and automation.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a scrum team to define and refine acceptance criteria and testing requirements for user stories.
  • Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives to ensure alignment with Agile practices.
  • Design and develop automated test frameworks for complex pharmacy automation systems.
  • Conduct comprehensive testing of the OmniCenter, its component parts, and the interfaces with other applications and systems.
  • Implement behavior-driven development (BDD) practices to validate system behaviors from both operational and clinical perspectives.
  • Perform manual and system testing to ensure 100% accuracy in medication management workflows.
  • Validate software components that support real-time inventory tracking, expiration date management, and medication distribution across enterprise systems.

Requirements

  • Programming experience in one or more object-oriented languages.
  • Experience creating automation tests and leveraging test frameworks interfacing with RESTful services, message queues, relational databases, and web applications.
  • Experience working in an Agile / Scrum environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or related field.
  • 6+ years' experience in a software quality role.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, and HIPAA.
  • Experience with pharmacy information systems or medication management technologies.
  • Familiarity with Omnicell products and solutions.
