About the position

The Storage System Quality Engineering team at Apple is responsible for ensuring the highest quality of storage technology in Apple products. This role involves collaborating with software development and QA teams to qualify new products, focusing on local storage. The candidate will engage in technical discussions, automate testing workflows, and analyze system performance issues, all while working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to automation framework focusing on scalability and reliability of tests while promoting coding best practices.
• Execute automated tests, debug, and analyze system performance issues on internal and/or external storage devices by partnering with engineering teams.
• Work with development teams to root cause issues found in tests and drive post-mortem discussions to prevent similar issues in the future.
• Collaborate and influence cross-functional teams to achieve results under tight deadlines.
• Participate in team code reviews, design, and test discussions.

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent.
• Experience developing in Python.
• Knowledge of NAND flash and/or understanding of storage technologies and protocols (e.g. NVMe, SCSI, AHCI).
• Strong hands-on experience with QA methodologies and excellent communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience solving complex problems & triaging issues both hardware and software.
• Familiarity with Source Control Management such as svn or git.
• Experience in C is a plus but not required.
• Automation planning, execution, and triage for projects on any of the platforms: iOS, macOS, watchOS, visionOS is desirable.
• Experience setting up and maintaining automation racks is desirable but not a must.
• Data Analysis experience with Splunk/Tableau or any similar tools.
