About the position

The Software Development Engineer-Test (SDE-T) intern position at Amazon is designed for students who are passionate about writing secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code. Interns will work on automation frameworks, creating automated test scripts to identify issues in software and testing scripts. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with experienced engineers, contribute to significant projects, and gain hands-on experience in a real-world setting during the summer of 2025.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to use technology to validate and verify software.
• Invent, refine and develop solutions to help lead fundamental changes in the industry.
• Build tools and automation frameworks that enable QA Engineers to easily automate tests.
• Troubleshoot, research and resolve defects.
• Create & manage bug reports and communicate with the team.

Requirements

• Experience with at least one modern language such as Java, Python, C++, or C# including object-oriented design.
• Are 18 years of age or older.
• Are enrolled in a Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or majors relating to these fields.
• Have an expected graduate date between October 2025 - September 2028 and be able to work 40 hours/week minimum and commit to 12 week internship.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience from a technical internship.
• Are enrolled in an academic program that is physically located in the United States.
• Experience in optimization mathematics such as linear programming and nonlinear optimization.
• Experience with distributed, multi-tiered systems, algorithms, and relational databases.
• Ability to effectively articulate technical challenges and solutions and adept at handling ambiguous or undefined problems as well as ability to think abstractly.
