About the position

The Software Development Engineer position at Pico Lab focuses on leading the development of XR software using Unity and native Android for futuristic applications on AR smart glasses. The role involves building applications from scratch, engaging in innovative product concepts, and optimizing user experience. The engineer will collaborate closely with hardware and software teams to deliver impressive user experience demos and provide mentorship to peers.

Responsibilities

• Lead XR software development efforts using Unity and native Android for AR smart glasses applications.
• Build Unity and native Android Apps from scratch.
• Engage in innovative product concepts and user experience design in the System Prototyping Team.
• Code and develop various Unity and native Android Apps, implementing UI/UX using the latest programming techniques.
• Analyze and optimize application code for user experience, product quality, power efficiency, and performance.
• Collaborate with hardware and software product teams to deliver user experience demos and key features for future products.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to peers.

Requirements

• Master or PhD in Computer Science.
• 3+ years of experience in Unity App development with a focus on script coding and successful public launches.
• 3+ years of experience in Android App development, including complex functions like videos, audios, ML, and APIs, with successful public launches.
• Experience in App-level software mockups and tuning user experience.
• Proficient in C# and Kotlin.
• Self-motivated to learn new skills daily.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in both front-end and back-end App development.
• Deep knowledge of image processing and computer vision algorithms.
• Rich experience in algorithm development including text-to-voice and machine learning model-based computer vision processing on Unity or Android.
