About the position

The Software Development Engineer - PLM role at AWS Hardware Engineering involves designing and developing product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions to enhance the capabilities of current systems. The position requires collaboration with engineers across the company and external partners to lead test automation and server test content efforts. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving continuous improvement in PLM applications, promoting best practices, and providing technical solutions to business processes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical system solutions for PLM systems, understanding supply chain and PLM requirements.
  • Work closely with the PLM team and stakeholders to understand requirements and develop software technical specifications.
  • Design and implement application configurations to meet business process and application requirements.
  • Develop test plans and scripts to ensure solutions meet client requirements, including unit and integration testing.
  • Act as an advocate for Product Lifecycle Management best practices and processes.
  • Provide Level 2/Level 3 technical support for applications and assist users in troubleshooting issues.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience of new and existing systems.
  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards and testing.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
