About the position

The Software Development Manager for AWS Border Network Engineering will lead a team focused on developing a new software-based packet processor platform. This role is critical in enhancing the performance and availability of Amazon's global network, which supports a vast array of applications and services. The manager will be responsible for overseeing the development of software controllers and ensuring operational excellence in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of a new packet processor platform for AWS Internet Edge team.
• Manage a team of software engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.
• Utilize metrics and monitoring to improve operational processes and team performance.
• Collaborate with product managers and technical specialists to align on project goals and deliverables.
• Ensure the team operates highly available and fault-tolerant systems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience
• 7+ years of engineering experience
• 8+ years of experience in leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services
• Knowledge of software/hardware/network development life cycle practices
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
