About the position

Amazon Security is looking for a Software Development Manager to lead the API Security Testing and Automation team within the Detective Tooling space. This role involves managing a team of software engineers to develop detection services, overseeing the complete software development lifecycle, and fostering an inclusive team culture. The ideal candidate will be customer-centric, enjoy solving complex security challenges, and be committed to team growth and success.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of software development engineers to ship detection services.
  • Own the complete software development lifecycle; defining, prioritizing, designing, and leading implementation and testing of new features.
  • Partner with engineering, science, and security teams to build relevant technology that benefits AWS Security.
  • Work with your team to define and develop an inclusive team culture that fosters individual growth and team success.
  • Provide a work environment that allows employees to have fun and advance in their careers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
  • 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
  • 8+ years of leading the definition and development of multi-tier web services experience.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations.
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior leadership to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy.
  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring/coaching and managing teams of Software Engineers to improve their skills and effectiveness.
