About the position

The Software Development Manager for Delivery Software Engineering at Amazon.com Services LLC is responsible for leading engineering teams in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software and services that support Fulfillment Center Operations and Field IT customers globally. This role requires a strong technical background, excellent project management skills, and the ability to mentor and develop a team of engineers while ensuring high standards of software quality and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Lead teams of engineers in the design, development, testing, and deployment of software and services.
  • Hire, motivate, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, promoting growth and opportunity.
  • Establish high standards for processes and software quality.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to translate feature requirements into software deliverables and launch plans.
  • Participate in system design reviews and team process improvements.
  • Communicate status, escalate, and remediate critical issues quickly.
  • Drive improvements in service delivery, dependency management, and operational excellence.
  • Provide thought leadership and establish the technical vision for the team.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of leading development of applications backed by AWS services or using other cloud-based technologies.
  • 5+ years of engineering team management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in defining and developing multi-tier web services.
  • Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle.
  • Experience partnering with product or program management teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in recruiting, hiring, mentoring, and managing teams of Software Engineers.
  • Experience in developing custom-built or ServiceNow applications.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
