About the position

The Software Development Manager for OPF in Amazon's Traffic Engineering team will lead a group of engineers focused on modernizing and managing internet connectivity for Amazon's various websites and services. This role involves overseeing the development of a next-generation internet ingress solution, AERO, and enhancing the OPF platform to protect against malicious attacks while improving customer experience. The manager will work collaboratively with other teams to innovate and streamline processes, ensuring safe and secure connectivity from the edge to the backend.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of engineers to modernize and innovate the OPF platform.
• Oversee the development of self-service tools and automation for managing internet connectivity.
• Collaborate with peers and business partners to enhance the performance of Amazon's websites.
• Design and architect new systems and improve existing ones for reliability and scalability.
• Ensure the security and privacy of internet traffic flow for various Amazon services.

Requirements

• 3+ years of engineering team management experience.
• 7+ years of experience working directly within engineering teams.
• 3+ years of experience in designing or architecting systems, focusing on design patterns, reliability, and scaling.
• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.
