About the position

The Software Development Manager will lead the platform development for the commercial software team, managing compute, network, and storage resources to ensure customer success. This role requires a balance of hands-on development and people leadership, with responsibilities including hiring, coaching engineers, and fostering a culture of execution. The position is based in Duluth, GA, with a hybrid work schedule requiring in-office presence on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Responsibilities

• Manage compute, network, and storage resources for customer operations.
• Hire and coach engineers, fostering a culture of execution.
• Act as a subject matter expert for AWS and associated product suite.
• Develop full-stack solutions and evaluate architectural alternatives for cloud models (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS).
• Define design patterns for high availability and disaster recovery.
• Research, operationalize, and train others on cloud technologies and best practices.
• Ensure solutions meet technical and functional requirements.
• Provide technical expertise and ownership in issue diagnosis and resolution.
• Manage team to achieve results, provide developmental feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
• Maintain industry knowledge on latest trends and technology.
• Perform additional responsibilities as directed by senior management.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer delivering and testing code in a data-heavy, enterprise environment working with C#, .NET Core, and Angular.
• 3+ years as a team lead or team manager leading software developers.
• Hands-on experience with microservices architecture and containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes, etc).
• Experience creating data models, schema design, and schema development T-SQL (stored procedures, views, triggers).
• Experience optimizing SQL performance, working with database partitioning, compression, and indexing.
• Experience with serverless architecture (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and their associated product suites at an enterprise level, with AWS being highly preferred.
• Experience planning, preparing, testing, and performing database patches and upgrades.
• Ability to solve problems in distributed systems at scale, preferably at the systems level.
