About the position

MRI Technologies is seeking a Project Manager/Product Owner to lead the COSMIC development team, which focuses on tracking Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) for NASA's Johnson Space Center. The role involves managing complex processes, utilizing Agile methodologies, and ensuring successful delivery of software enhancements while collaborating with NASA and other contractors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the COSMIC development team in delivering enhancements and solutions for NASA and JSC GFE tracking.
  • Act as the primary liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders (NASA, prime contractors).
  • Collaborate closely with NASA/JSC customers to gather requirements, manage expectations, and communicate project status.
  • Translate high-level customer requirements into detailed Epics and Issues for the development team.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and team priorities in an Agile project management environment.
  • Ensure that project goals, deliverables, and timelines are met.
  • Prepare and present project updates to both internal leadership and NASA management.
  • Attend regular on-site meetings at Johnson Space Center (as needed).
  • Act as an internal quality control check for the project.
  • Manage project scope and changes.
  • Attend weekly management meetings with the client to address any updates, challenges, and future planning needed.
  • Report on project success criteria results, metrics, testing and deployment management activities.
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks, and issues, communicating to the client and internal leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 5+ years of relevant work experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in product or project management roles, with a focus on software development.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and work order-driven processes.
  • Gitlab Project management experience.
  • Proven experience leading cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to present to high-level stakeholders.
  • Experience with NASA or government contracting work preferred.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based software development processes is a plus.
  • U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of NASA contracts.
  • Has demonstrated ability to effectively lead a 100% remote team.
  • Self-motivated, self-directed.
  • Experience with deploying cloud-native solutions on GCP (preferred) and/or AWS.

  • Experience with NASA or government contracting work preferred.
