About the position
Peraton is seeking a Java Developer to join a diverse team focused on building next-generation customer engagement systems for federal service agencies. This hybrid role requires local presence in the DC Metro Region and involves working onsite in Columbia, MD four times a month. The developer will be responsible for creating web and backend applications/services for credentialing and case management systems using Java and Spring-based REST APIs in a continuous integration environment.
Responsibilities
- Build web and backend applications/services for credentialing/case management systems.
- Develop using Java/Spring based REST APIs along with a Web 2.0 framework.
- Work in a continuous integration environment.
Requirements
- BA/BS with 2 years of relevant work experience; or MS/MA degree; or 6 years of relevant work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on automated test coding experience using Java (or development experience with C++ or C#).
- Experience with Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD).
- Familiarity with Behavior Driven Development (Cucumber).
- Proficient in Java, including frameworks such as Spring and Spring Boot.
- Experience with open-source automation tools such as Selenium/Serenity/Cucumber.
- Experience with Functional Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, and User Acceptance Testing phases.
- Experience with REST/SOAP web services and APIs.
- Experience with SQL.
- U.S. Citizenship required; must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
Nice-to-haves
- Hands-on experience in Open Source Automated Test Frameworks (e.g. Serenity, Selenium, Cucumber).
- Experience using Java development tools (e.g. Eclipse, JUnit, Git).
- Prior experience with front-end development including JavaScript frameworks.
- Experience in a large scale Federal IT Program.
- Experience with SAFe Agile delivery framework.
- Active Secret Level Security Clearance preferred.
