About the position

As a Software Engineer A, you will play a crucial role in the creation and development of support software for Windows desktop applications specifically designed for motion controllers and subsystems. This position involves not only the development of software tools but also the completion of ongoing development projects. You will be a key member of the team responsible for the next generation of controller and subsystem development tools. Your responsibilities will include creating work plans, detailed specifications, and schedules in collaboration with the Development Manager, and executing these tasks effectively. In this role, you will engage in hands-on development of software tools that facilitate application development. You will also be responsible for developing specifications for software products that are created outside of your department. Documentation is a significant part of this role, as you will need to create comprehensive documentation to guide users in utilizing the software effectively. Additionally, you will be involved in creating help files and providing limited customer support for the software tools. Maintenance and backups of the software environment will also be part of your responsibilities, ensuring that the software remains functional and up-to-date.

Responsibilities

  • Create and develop support Windows desktop application software for motion controllers and subsystems.
  • Complete current development projects as assigned.
  • Develop work plans, detailed specifications, and schedules in conjunction with the Development Manager.
  • Execute tasks related to software development and documentation.
  • Engage in hands-on development of software tools to facilitate application development.
  • Develop specifications for software products created outside of the department.
  • Create documentation for software usage and help files.
  • Provide limited customer support for the software tools.
  • Maintain and backup the software environment.

Requirements

  • Master's or foreign degree equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in the job offered or in software engineering.
  • Experience in C# programming with Microsoft Visual Studio.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft .NET development and framework environment.
  • Experience in non-web-based desktop application development for Windows OS.
  • User interface development experience with WPF, XAML, and MVVM.
