About the position

As a Software Engineer Advisor (Architecture) at ENGIE FlexGen in Houston, Texas, you will lead software development efforts within a cross-functional team focused on Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). Your role will involve supporting the software architecture needs and implementing Linux-based applications, utilizing both third-party and open-source code. You will report directly to the Software Director of Engineering and play a crucial role in enhancing the software development process.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development efforts in a cross-functional team.
• Support software architecture needs for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
• Implement Linux-based applications leveraging third-party and open-source code.
• Collaborate with team members to design and develop customer-facing user interfaces.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of seven (7) years designing and implementing customer-facing user interfaces.
• Minimum of three (3) years' experience developing in a Linux environment.
• Ability to read and write C/C++/C# language programs.
• Knowledgeable in scripting languages such as PERL, Python, or similar.
• Deep understanding of software configuration management systems such as Git or Subversion.
• Familiarity with MathWorks tools (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, Coder, toolboxes, Designer) for modeling and simulation.
