About the position

The Swift Group is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Analytics to design, develop, and enhance complex software products. This role involves building scalable data platforms and working on projects related to ETL, cloud migration, and AI/ML technologies. The ideal candidate will thrive in an Agile environment and possess a strong technical background in various programming languages and big data technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze, design and develop tests and test-automation suites
  • Design and develop a processing platform using various configuration management technologies
  • Test software development methodology in an Agile environment
  • Provide ongoing maintenance, support and enhancements in existing systems and platforms
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists, analysts, project managers, and other engineers
  • Troubleshoot complex problems and provide customer support for software systems and application issues
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement
  • Work alongside other engineers on the team to sustain and advance the organization's capabilities

Requirements

  • 8+ years of related experience in Software Engineering, Application development, or computer programming
  • Hands-on development experience and facility with Python, C#, and Java
  • Experience in AI/ML technology and development
  • Experience in cloud technology and development
  • Experience with Scrum/Agile development methodologies
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
  • US Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance required

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with .NET environments
  • Hands-on experience with data formats including XML, PCAP, images, and media
  • Hands-on experience working with Hadoop, Hive, Pig, Map Reduce, Spark, Rabbit MQ, Kafka, Flume
  • DevOps experience building and deploying cloud infrastructure with technologies like Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.
  • Experience with test-driven development and automated testing frameworks
  • Capable of delivering on multiple competing priorities with little supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with infrastructure automation technologies like Docker, Vagrant, etc.
  • Familiarity with build automation technologies like Maven, Jenkins, etc.
  • Familiarity with monitoring technologies like Nagios, Ganglia, etc.
  • Experience building APIs and services using REST, SOAP, etc.
  • Experience with Elasticsearch and relational databases
  • Experience with Oracle databases
