About the position

The Software Engineer for App Intents and Shortcuts at Apple will work on core technologies that enhance user interaction with devices, contributing to the Apple Intelligence ecosystem. This role involves building frameworks and experiences that empower users and developers, focusing on the App Intents framework and the infrastructure behind Siri, widgets, and automations. The engineer will be part of a collaborative team, responsible for designing and developing new features and APIs, while also maintaining existing code and ensuring high-quality user experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new features and APIs within the App Intents framework.
• Maintain existing code, fix bugs, and enhance software architecture for flexibility and maintainability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to build relationships and craft compelling features and APIs.
• Guide APIs through an iterative review process with partner teams and present them at WWDC.
• Work on the Shortcuts app and other system-wide UIs integrated with App Intents.

Requirements

• Strong programming skills and experience working on Apple's platforms.
• Ability to solve complex technical challenges and create scalable code.
• Deep understanding of software architecture and writing maintainable code.
• Experience in developing APIs and core capabilities for software applications.
• Attention to detail to ensure high-quality user experiences.
