About the position

The Software Engineer Associate Manager at National General is responsible for ensuring that system users receive maximum value from the products developed. This role involves developing test-driven code, managing applications in production, and being accountable for the success of digital products through key performance indicators. The position also includes leading and mentoring small to medium teams, advising on administrative policies, and implementing IT best practices.

Responsibilities

• Leads and participates in retrospectives, encouraging feedback with empathy.
• Leads and participates in daily site, cross-site, and product team standups.
• Leads and participates in inceptions and iteration planning meetings, providing technical input.
• Acts as a player coach, leading by example in the execution of technical product capabilities.
• Coaches the team in paired programming and test-driven development practices.
• Serves as the anchor of the team, providing technical leadership and guidance.
• Collaborates on strategy across product portfolios with product managers and stakeholders.
• Leads the architecture and design efforts of the product.
• Participates in knowledge sharing to enhance the collective knowledge of the CompoZed Labs community.
• Establishes and advocates for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment practices.

Requirements

• 4 year Bachelor's Degree (Preferred).
• 5 or more years of experience (Preferred).
• Supervisory experience.
