About the position

The Software Engineer - Automation - IV role focuses on developing and automating solutions within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) environment. This position requires a deep understanding of GCP infrastructure, particularly in automation and security measures, while leveraging Python and Terraform for development. The role is integral to enhancing the cloud security posture of the organization and involves collaboration with various teams to implement effective security solutions.

Responsibilities

• Planning, implementing, managing, monitoring, and upgrading security measures for the organization's data, systems, and networks.
• Designing, testing, and building security automation and tooling to promote security hygiene.
• Working independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams to educate and reduce risks.
• Managing cloud security solutions promoting automation.
• Driving mitigation of reported risks from continuous monitoring solutions.
• Partnering with enterprise teams to establish preventative controls to support security needs via automation.
• Integrating services via published APIs using various programming platforms.
• Performing daily administrative tasks, reporting, and communication with relevant departments.
• Owning the ongoing design, implementation, and management of the GCP environment, including testing and implementation of new services.
• Collaborating with Security, Governance, Cloud engineering groups, and development teams to implement solutions across various lines of business.
• Designing and automating security & governance framework across GCP environments using Python, Google Cloud SDKs, Unix Shell, and other scripting languages.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Five or more years of relevant work experience
• Five or more years of experience with GCP and Azure combined
• Five or more years of development experience using Python
• Five or more years of experience developing Cloud Automation
• Strong knowledge of PowerShell, Django, HTML, jQuery, Bash scripting
• GCP SDK and CLI experience
• Terraform experience
• Linux and Windows System Administration experience
• Cloud Networking and Security experience
• Experience with JIRA, Jenkins, Ansible, GIT, Confluence
• Basic DB and SQL experience
• Strong experience with GCP Cloud functions and Azure Functions

Nice-to-haves

• Five or more years in cloud operations, development, security, compliance, etc.
• Demonstrated understanding of Cloud Platform technologies and their usage, specifically GCP and preferably Azure and/or AWS
• Solid experience in cloud security, risk analysis, and implementation of best practices
• Hands-on development using Python and APIs
• Strong attention to detail with an analytical mind and outstanding problem-solving skills
• Creating innovative solutions to meet technical security needs
• Developing company-wide best practices for IT security
• Researching security enhancements and making recommendations to management
• Hands-on experience with GCP SCC or other CSPM tools
• GCP and Azure Professional Certifications
