As a full-stack hands-on developer, you will be interested in solving real-world problems in the space of information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, and data distribution that will transform the AWM business. You will work closely with business users and technology teams across the firm to build modern applications to replace long-standing legacy systems. You will embrace test-driven development and other agile techniques, focusing on their fundamental philosophies to produce quality software. Your role will involve developing scalable solutions that solve specific problems while being generalized enough to apply to other challenges. You will constantly strive to improve existing systems and architecture, keeping abreast of the latest developments in software from NoSQL/Distributed databases to Reactive Application design and micro-services.
Responsibilities
- Build massively scalable software and systems for Asset & Wealth Management.
- Architect low latency infrastructure solutions.
- Proactively guard against cyber threats.
- Leverage machine learning alongside financial engineering to turn data into action.
- Develop modern applications to replace legacy systems.
- Work closely with users to understand problem spaces and identify solutions.
- Implement scalable solutions that can be generalized for other problems.
- Continuously improve existing systems and architecture.
Requirements
- 2-3 years of experience in Java.
- 2-3 years of experience working with non-relational and relational databases.
- Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
- Excellent object-oriented or functional analysis and design skills.
- Comfortable multi-tasking and managing multiple stakeholders.
- Proven communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Experience building client- and consumer-facing products is a plus.
Nice-to-haves
- Knowledge of reactive frameworks like Vertex is a plus.
- Eager to learn new programming languages including functional programming.
- Experience in information retrieval and distributed computing.
