About the position

The Software Engineer, Computer Vision role at Meta involves developing advanced Eye Tracking technology that enhances user interaction in augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR). The position focuses on transforming computer vision technology into user-friendly applications, requiring collaboration across various teams and technical leadership to drive project direction.

Responsibilities

  • Transform fundamental Computer Vision technology (Eye-Tracking) into user experiences.
  • Develop system design plans using system design experience.
  • Extract the right signal from the eye-tracking engine and design API layers.
  • Propagate signals across APIs and build applications to improve AR/VR functionality.
  • Collaborate across multiple teams and disciplines including computer vision, graphics, and UX.
  • Act as a Tech Lead, setting technical direction and coordinating with stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Skilled in writing efficient and maintainable C++ code.
  • Experience developing Computer Vision algorithms and systems.
  • Experience in designing real-time applications and API layers.
  • Experience developing user-facing applications.
  • Effective communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a similar relevant discipline.
  • Experience in developing applications for AR or VR devices.
  • Coding skills in C#.
  • Experience developing 3D applications in Unity or Unreal engines.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience working with display rendering pipelines.
