As a Software Engineer Contractor at Thomson Reuters Special Services (TRSS), you will play a crucial role in developing and enhancing the TRSS solutions suite. This position involves working on full-stack projects that utilize advanced search, big data ingestion, and analytical processing. You will collaborate with the analytical staff and development teams to design software solutions that meet customer requirements, while also engaging in new development and mentoring less experienced developers.

  • Work on projects that support and extend the TRSS solutions suite.
  • Design and implement software solutions and data science efforts.
  • Engage with TRSS analytical staff to gather requirements and generate ideas.
  • Demo new software solutions as needed.
  • Lead projects or efforts and mentor less experienced developers.
  • Own your work and ensure customer success.
  • B.S. in Computer Science or Software Engineering or relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 3 years of professional software development experience.
  • Strong moral and ethical character with a strong personal work ethic.
  • Experience mentoring less experienced developers and/or leading small projects or teams.
  • Strong engineering and problem-solving skills.
  • Development experience with Python, Java, SpringBoot, MongoDB, MySQL, Docker, Jenkins, Git, and Maven.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship essential to comply with government contract requirements.
  • Frontend development experience with React, Angular, or Vue.
  • AWS experience.
  • Experience with Neo4J or other graph technology.
  • Familiarity with Kafka, Grails, Groovy, and Elasticsearch.
