About the position

Cloudflare is seeking a talented software engineer to enhance its Data Loss Prevention (DLP) product. The role involves improving the efficiency and accuracy of the DLP product while developing new features. The engineer will work with a Rust codebase deployed across Cloudflare's global edge network and Kubernetes clusters, contributing to a critical service that protects sensitive data for organizations of all sizes.

Responsibilities

• Enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the Data Loss Prevention product.
• Design and implement features in a Rust codebase.
• Deploy services across Cloudflare's edge fleet and Kubernetes clusters.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure product quality and performance.

Requirements

• Solid Rust coding experience, as the entire product is written in Rust.
• Experience with container orchestration, particularly Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of distributed systems focusing on performance, consistency, observability, and resilience.
• Familiarity with advanced data/document classification techniques, including statistical methods and machine learning.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with service monitoring tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
• Knowledge of service logging with Elasticsearch and Kibana.
• Familiarity with product analytics tools such as Clickhouse and BigQuery.
