As a core member of the team, you'll build self-service data platform tools and frameworks used across Chime. Additionally, you will have the unique opportunity to architect and build data workflows that could potentially become de facto standards for the fintech industry.

Responsibilities

  • Build, scale, and optimize secure, self-service frameworks for batch and streaming data as a hands-on engineer.
  • Support the newest Chime product initiatives with your data pipelines.
  • Automate and streamline data infrastructure updates and CI/CD deployment processes.
  • Enhance workflow scheduling and automation systems.
  • Develop tools and frameworks that enhance data governance and improve data quality standards.
  • Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and data teams to integrate the data dictionary and establish data lineage across data domains.
  • Partner with stakeholders, such as Data Governance, Data Science, Product Engineering, Security, Analytics, and other business partners to meet their data needs.
  • Share ownership of critical data aspects, such as security, governance, and quality across all projects.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience building, optimizing, and deploying production-quality platform code.
  • Experience in Python (or a similar language) and comfort with basic SQL.
  • Familiarity with data infrastructure tools like Spark, Flink, Storm, Airflow, Kinesis, or Kafka.
  • Experience with Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools, and a cloud provider stack (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • Understanding of key metrics of a data ecosystem and experience building infrastructure or data solutions to partner teams.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prior experience with any of the data warehouses like Snowflake, AWS Redshift, BigQuery, or Teradata.

Benefits

  • A thoughtful hybrid work policy that combines in-office days and trips to team and company-wide events depending on location to ensure you stay connected to your work and teammates, whether you're local to one of our offices or remote.
  • Hybrid work perks, like UrbanSitter and Kinside for backup child, elder and/or pet care, as well as a subsidized commuter benefit.
  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • 401k match plus great medical, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
  • Generous vacation policy and company-wide Take Care of Yourself Days.
  • 1% of your time off to support local community organizations of your choice.
  • Mental health support with therapy and coaching through Modern Health.
  • 16 weeks of paid parental leave for all parents and an additional 6-8 weeks for birthing parents.
  • Access to Maven, a family planning tool, with up to $10k in reimbursement for egg freezing, fertility treatments, adoption, and more.
  • In-person and virtual events to connect with your fellow Chimers-think cooking classes, guided meditations, music festivals, mixology classes, paint nights, etc., and delicious snack boxes, too!
  • A challenging and fulfilling opportunity to join one of the most experienced teams in FinTech and help millions unlock financial progress.
