About the position

The Software Engineer for Data Quality Tools at Stripe plays a vital role in ensuring the integrity and reliability of data across the organization. This position involves developing and implementing robust data quality solutions, automating data quality checks, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to establish data quality standards. The engineer will be empowered to make impactful decisions and build solutions that enhance the overall quality of data, supporting strategic initiatives and fostering innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement robust Data Quality solutions for data validation, cleansing, and monitoring.
  • Deploy comprehensive Data Quality frameworks and tools to maintain data accuracy and consistency.
  • Implement automated data quality checks and monitoring systems to proactively identify data issues.
  • Develop and maintain data quality metrics and dashboards for visibility into the data ecosystem's health.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to establish and enforce data quality standards and best practices.
  • Design and implement data cleansing and enrichment processes to enhance data quality.
  • Provide support and guidance to data consumers to ensure reliance on high-quality data.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of professional experience writing high quality production level code.
  • Experience in designing and implementing data-intensive applications.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deliver effective solutions.
  • Familiarity with various facets of product development, including architectural design and user interviews.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficiency in software languages and frameworks such as Ruby, Typescript, Scala, Java, React, GraphQL, Mongo, Airflow, Spark, Kafka, Flink, Iceberg, Splunk, and Grafana.
  • Experience developing, maintaining, and debugging distributed systems.
  • Ability to reason clearly and act with urgency in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with data quality tools like Deequ, Soda, and Great Expectations in large-scale environments.
  • Familiarity with machine learning concepts as applied to data quality.
