About the position

The Data Engineering team at Chime is focused on building a scalable data platform essential for the company's success. As a core member, you will develop scalable data pipelines and frameworks, and architect workflows that could set industry standards in fintech. This role emphasizes hands-on data engineering, data quality, governance, and collaboration with various teams to ensure data integrity and availability.

Responsibilities

• Build, scale, and optimize ETL pipelines.
• Design data warehouse schemas and processes to accommodate 10x data growth.
• Ensure data quality, governance, and security across all data aspects.
• Manage schema registry and dependency charts for persistent data.
• Oversee ETL workflows to meet data quality and availability requirements.
• Collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, and DevOps teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience transforming data into governed datasets.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying production-quality data pipelines.
• 3+ years of experience working with stakeholders to provide business insights.
• 3+ years of experience writing Spark, AWS Glue, EMR, Airflow, and Python.
• 1+ years of experience using MPP database systems like Snowflake, AWS Redshift, or Teradata.
• Proven track record of successful partnerships with Analytics, Data Science, and DevOps teams.
• Understanding of key metrics for data pipelines and solutions to provide visibility.
