About the position

The Software Engineer - Developer Efficiency role at Datadog focuses on enhancing the developer experience for over 1500 engineers by creating a cohesive CI platform. The position aims to streamline workflows, reduce friction in collaboration, and ensure that all engineers have a self-service platform for building, testing, merging, and releasing code. The role involves designing and implementing solutions that facilitate efficient code deployment and includes direct interaction with engineers to understand their needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new solutions to enhance collaboration and code deployment for Datadog engineers.
• Own critical developer workflows such as merge queue, change detection, and bundle release.
• Meet directly with engineers to gather feedback and understand their needs.

Requirements

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Go, Python, or Java.
• Experience in designing CI workflows using commercial tools like Gitlab, Jenkins, or CircleCI.
• Strong interest in improving developer workflows.
• Experience mentoring other engineers.
• Ability to collaborate with teams across the company.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with cloud technologies and infrastructure monitoring.
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies.
